From what I seen so far, they are cute. I got 2 for my granddaughters who well be 4 this year. My one granddaughter saw it
last christmas on tv. But i had already had her gift by then.
So I remember to get for her this time.
I won't know much till they get and see how work on computer,
as of now they are cute from what I've seen. Sorry couldn't be more of help.

I seriously almost lit this thing on fire. My daughter was so excited to get it for her birthday, but man was it a nightmare to get up and running! LOOOONG story short, DON'T BOTHER WITH THE CD. Install a download software manager, then download the dora links game from the internet. You'll need the software manager as frequently the site is either too busy or faulty & will kick you off, undoing any download progress you've made. Two days after you begin downloading, your software should be good to go. My advice? It's a great toy, I definitely would buy it again, but I would have purchased it 2-3 days before her birthday and made sure the program was downloaded before giving it to her.

Mattel and Nickolodeon have really done something right with this toy and accessories. We had no problem with the set-up even though we are running Windows on a Mac. We didn't bother with the CD in the package...just went directly to the [...] website and downloaded the software from there. The doll worked immediately. I am very pleased with the quality of the doll. She is heavy for her size because she requires batteries, but is very well-made and attractive. I love that Dora and the other dolls in this line are actually appropriate for little girls. They are not excessively made-up and wear appropriate clothing, yet there is still a "fashion" element that little girls love. In the online world, girls can dress Dora in different outfits, change her hair and jewelry, eye color and makeup. In the real world, girls can change Dora's clothes, (if you've purchased additional outfits!) and her eye color, hair length, and cheek and lip color actually change when you make those changes on the computer. On top of this, there are games to play, mysteries to solve, and friends to help online. The Explorer Girls are interested not only in fashion, but also in sports, charity, school, and in keeping their town "clean and green". It is true that this Dora doll unlocks only certain areas of the online world and that you have to purchase additional accessories to unlock more, but I don't have a big problem with that. My daughter received this doll and the Dora Links School Playset for her 6th birthday, along with two outfits and the dog accessory pack and used some of her birthday money to buy one of the other dolls. She plans to save her allowance to purchase accessories in the future, and we will have gift ideas for her for several holidays to come. This type of toy, with an online element, is the future of toys and really holds a child's attention. I'm glad this one is a toy I feel good about giving my child!

Installation a breeze after reading other reviews. I did install a freeware download scheduler and that seems to help with pretty much all downloads, definitely do this. My daughter received Dora for Christmas and has spent every allowance since then on other parts of Dora's world- it is now almost April. She is 4 and is able to explore Dora's world and also perform helping hands missions with almost no input from me, but we do the mysteries together. We play on the computer and off with just the dolls. American girl is the only other toy that sees as much action at our house. Customer service has been wonderful- I admit the Dora locker does not seem to work consistently, but Dora herself rocks it. Wish she worked with Mac, but we have to keep a pc around the house for all the other things that are not mac-friendly anyways. Great product, AWESOME customer service (we managed to lock ourselves out of our account- windows issues not Dora's fault). Even big brother's friends like to play in Dora's online world- great toy.
Note that there are many locked things in Dora's world which require you purchase additional items- but I think you can buy everything in Dora's entire world for around $200, in our experience worth every penny and wish Mattel would come out with the dance and gala outfits (never have found them- Target is the only store online showing them, and our Target stores say they've never seen them in person)

I purchased this doll for my daughters 9th birthday. And she has never gotten the chance to utilise the doll per the advertise decription of what the doll could do. Such as using a cd to download the dora links to a computer and hooking the doll to the computer where it cvnhages her eye collor and hair length.. My daughter has never got to play withi this doll and this purchase was a waste of my money. I am very disapointed with this purchase. Mattel should be ashame of themselves. I am to also write a letter to Mattel and ask for a refund of my money in regards to the purchase of this Dora Link Doll..
