This is a nice novelty toy. It's sure to get people involved in the fun. I gave one to my parents for Christmas, and they had a lot of fun with it. Both the kids and adults who visited for the holidays were entertained by it, but overall I think this is a better toy for adults than for kids.
I gave it a "3" for durability because it seems solid enough, but not enough time has passed since the purchase to really know how it will hold up. It seems well built.

I bought this Parrot for my granddaughter (8). It was her favorite gift of all! She has had more fun with the bird than I ever thought possible. Even has her 18 month old brother laughing at its antics. It's amazing what this parrot can do! It talks, sings, moves, repeats back what you say. You would swear it was ALIVE! Fantastic toy.

The parrot was a gift for my 6 year old son who so desperately wanted a talking parrot for Christmas. There really is no educational value to the gift but he enjoys playing with the toy. The only problem I had with purchasing the toy was the shipping. I paid to have the toy expedited within 2-3 days and received it in 8 days. When I contacted Amazon about the shipping they stated they had nothing to do with shipping. I feel I should be reimbursed for the shipping since it took so long to receive the toy.

Santa brought Squawkers for our 5 year old Sophia and she and the whole family loves him! He truly lived up to the reviews I had read. He is VERY realistic to the point he startles people. He is very smart and interactive. I think the few poor reviews might be folks who didn't take the time to read the directions. He can do A LOT of things if you take the time to learn how he works (just like anything!) Our 5 year old plays with no assistance, but our 4 year old son sometimes needs a little help so I would think 5 would be a good starting age. No limit on the top-out age. My mother LOVED him, too!

I purchased this for my 9 year-old daughter for Christmas. I was hesitant because I am not a bird lover and I thought it would be annoying. Squawkers has stolen my heart! My daughter loves him, he is a beautiful looking bird and she really enjoys playing with him. Especially the "repeat after me" part! The adults enjoyed him also. Worth the money!
