Tyco R/C N.S.E.C.T. Robotic Attack Creature - 49MHZ - Blue

No I don't own stock in Tyco either, but my 5 year old saw this on a commercial and wanted it. I saw it on sale and grabbed it and - myself too - had to charge and test it before christmas. I loved it. Sure it's loud, and is kind of freaky looking when it walks, but for a "boy's boy" this thing is awesome. My boy likes loud and things that shoot. The launcher works flawless, and the charge lasts a long time. I was sitting on a couch and he walked it to me and the thing darn near crawled up the couch. If you've ever seen a dog try and climb a tree - the way it digs and claws trying to climb...that's what it was doing. I had a quick vision one day of having something like this gaurding my house while I was away - an adult sized attack version! Anyhow - my boys nsect is working great after several kids using it all day yesterday - and pretty much abusing it. Love it.

My children cannot use this toy.....because it is now mine. If they want one then they need to save up money of their own. I took this thing out of the package, did a quick charge and it did everything described to me, without failure.
It has quite a good grouping with the darts, and maybe in the future, TYCO will get us satellite uplinks with complete targeting packages and options. I just realized something here.....I am living my childhood all over again through this toy. I think I will quit my job and stop paying bills and live with my mommy so I can play with my little friend.
I really cant wait to spring this one on my kids though. I cant wait to see the look on my cats faces, when they have darts protruding from their ears that is......maybe one in the face, but since it would be on the run.....well lets just say I wont have a use for the next dart.
All kidding on the side though, I will need to get another one of these gems......for my little offspring to play with. A few extra darts would help too, you know, for the useless "cats on the run" bullseyes that no one will touch again. This time TYCO got one for everyone to have fun with that also can test the faithfulness of the family pets. If the cats or dogs dont like it, stay outside! They have furs that I cannot afford and meals served to them and hand grooming. I now have something to balance out the demands placed upon me by my cats and dogs!

Imagine the first Atari...remember, for those who found this toy a little bit noisy(use it outdoors) or slow (warning this is a robot toy not a car), who cares, this is the future. Toys are for kids, to help them develope their imagination and/or competition. I brought 2 and have a lot of fun playing with the kids. Focus on the future...hummm, the first apple?, first pc with windows? Give the toy a chance you will enjoy it.

I was a little concerned by some of the comments. But ours works fine. walks on hardwood floors and shoots 15 - 20 feet. The people who are having trouble with the shooting mechanism I suspect are not pushing the darts all the way in. If they are left out part way, you lose distance in the shooting. Regarding the noise? well it is a noisy toy, but what do you expect from a remote controlled robot insect tank? It makes noise walking across the floor and shooting. It is louder than an rc car but it is clearly more fun. Those that lose interest in it after 20 min probably would lose interest in similar type toys, e.g. rc cars etc. . . All in all, no complaints. Does what it is suppose to do. If you dont like the idea of a big robot insect tank in your living room then dont buy it, otherwise its ok and our kids certainly like it.

I thought this toy would be much smaller. It's huge. Like the size of a throw pillow of a couch. It's an eyesore too to keep out in the living room. My unit worked well however, and the rockets launched fine. When I first started firing them 4 out of 6 of them stuck to the balcony windows from 15 feet away. The toy is very loud, very fragile, and somewhat clumsy. The controler is close to a PS2 controler, so it's not hard to master. The bottom line is that the toy is too large, and too loud, and too slow, that after the first 20 minutes of playing with it, it gets annoying. Do not buy for your kids, or worse someone elses. Thier parents will hate you for it. It's just not fun. Who are you going to attack with this attack creature? It's purly made to annoy. I'm only giving 2 stars instead of one, because the unit did work perfectly fine while I used it. I decided to get rid of it and not give it as a gift b/c it annoyed me so much. It would be hard to store because the legs and the "wing" enclosures could break easily.
