FurReal Friends Butterscotch Pony

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Butterscotch wins hands down for presents...
This gift has yet to be opened by my five year old daughter, but since it's arrival in the household - - it's been a winner.

Assembly is easier than expected and for the non hammer yielding, screwdriver holding parents - it's easier than putting together a new computer or figuring out the controls on an iPod stereo system.

The other kids in the house have seen it, as well as friends and family. I pre-assembled it, but have it "hidden" away for Christmas. I've shown the toy off to everyone who visits and the ten and fifteen year olds in the house. The ten year old wants one and the fifteen year old thinks it is amazing in how it responds and reacts to sounds, light and petting.

The horse stands a good three feet high and will make an EXCELLENT addition to my daughters collection of toys. This one will have more play time than any of the other toys by any stretch and will easily have batteries being replaced weekly.

If you want to make your daughter happy and bring that most wonderful feeling of satisfaction to yourself for choosing the right gift - this one will do the trick.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - fur real is for real
The fur real pony is an awesome toy for any age child. The interaction between toy and child is a joy to watch. The price may be alittle high but the childs face when opening it as a gift is priceless. It could stand to have more features about it because we all know a childs attention span and this deosnt keep them entertained for as long as I would have liked. THe head and neck on the pony is kinda fragile everyone Ive seen displayed in stores doesnt work, I guess because of so many hands on it. But it tells me that I may not have it more than a year or so. Other than that I would recommend this to anyone.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - A toy for horse lovers
My 2 year old plays with this every so often for a couple minutes. The rest of the time we have a 3 foot tall stuffed horse sitting in the living room.

We dressed it up for Halloween and it was a big hit for the treak-or-treaters.

You have to weigh the "how much is this really going to be used" vs. "how much storage space do I have". Not like you can just stick this thing in a closet or toybox to take out to play.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Butterscotch Pony: The Review
Hi it's me Allie again and today we are going to review the new Furreal Friends Butterscotch Pony. There is also a pinto version named s'mores and I pesonally think the pinto is a lot cuter! Here is what I think of this toy. Butterscotch is very cute, but very overpriced. I think it would be more reasonable if Butterscotch was around seventy dollars. I think that is about what it is worth according to a kid's perspective. Butterscotch is adorable. It eats its carrot, neighs and whinnies, responds to your voice, can be sat on and more. Butterscotch can hold even and eighty pound kid! The horse doesn't actually move but it bounces and makes galloping noises. What I have heard is that it is not always reliable and some kids get bored of it quickly. I think it would be good for the 2-6 age group. Older kids would probably find it boring. Sometimes you have to be patient with it because the one they were showing on the David Letterman Show was not turning on. It is also not a good idea to shoot spitballs at it like David did to get it going. The horse also has a loud motor as some customers say. You have to give the pony a break because it really is cute though. I bet a younger kid wouldn't even notice the motor noises! Butterscotch also comes with a curry comb and a carrot. You can buy an additional accessory pack that comes with a blanket, some leg warmers, grass the horse can eat and a blue ribbon if you like butterscotch. I hope you enjoyed this review. Make sure to try the horse out and keep your receipt. Look at some other reviews on here and watch the demo. If you want more on how it works and seeing it in action watch videos about it on[...].-Allie age 13FurReal Friends Butterscotch Pony

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Just submit to the Christmas craziness and GET IT
Its been a year in our house and this toy is STILL played with on a weekly basis. The original batteries from last Christmas are still working. My child is 8 years old and she can ride it fine. Pony has been groomed, tied to doorhandles, and used for riding instruction with various friends, dolls.

It does everything it says - neighs, head turns. It is a little freaky, but the kids love it. I've used it for photography sessions to get wonderful headshots of kids that otherwise would never sit still - cropping out the pony so no one is any wiser.

Our only complaint: 1) The eyelashes on this thing. I've never met a horse with eyelashes like this...they are like a llama.

2) Sometimes it is hard for the child to hit the rump in the right spot to get the pony to make the clippity clop sound.
