Rating: -
I bought Butterscotch for Christmas for my 5 year old daughter. Although I was incredibly impressed by the quality and features of the toy, after the initial excitement wore off (about 1 week), my daughter hasn't touched the horse. I think the fact that it doesn't walk or move (other than the head), is a disappointment for a child who wants a "real" horse. Butterscotch is well made and interactive (and easy to assemble), but I think it's more entertaining for the adults who've never had this type of toy growing up. I REALLY wish I didn't lay out all of the money I did for Butterscotch.

Every child who is horse crazy should have this stoy. It is absolutely amazing. Its so realistic it seems to be listening to conversations that are going on around it. We jokingly wonder if she's walking around the house when no one is home. My daughter is still playing with it and treats it like a real pet. She even said she doesn't need a REAL horse now (we'll see how long that lasts, but at least it bought us some time!!!)

From the time my Grand Daughter woke up on Christmas morning, she asked if Santa brought Butterscotch. Although Butterscotch was not at her home, the pony was waiting for her at her Great Grandparents home where the family spent Christmas day.
When she walked into her Great Grandparents home, she looked around since there were not too many gifts under the tree which is unusual.
Butterscotch was wrapped with two large gift bags and placed in the hallway so she would not see the pony. Since Butterscotch was assembled, it was a giveaway as soon as you say the wrapping.
She was given a gift bag with Butterscotch's brush and carrot. She pulled out the brush and asked if it was for the puppy that Santa brought to their home.
After looking at the brush again, she said "This is for Butterscotch!" Her Mother then walked her to where Butterscotch was standing.
Needless to say between my Grand Daughter, who just turned 7, and my Sister's Grand Daughter who is 21 months, Butterscotch was a hit all day long.
My parents and I assembled Butterscotch and of course, had to play with it before wrapping it - just to make sure everything worked fine. We laughed like children.
This is a wonderful way for a child to have a pony without the daily routine.
Plus having it delivered right to my door, I did not have to worry about how I was going to get the pony home from the store. Very easy to assemble too.

I got this for my grand daughter. She is 4 and loves this. It is interesting the way it responds to people. It reacts to noise and actually looks like it is reacting to you, turning its head and moving its ears. We do need to shut it off at night as it starts making horsey noises at night when she moves around in bed.
The electronics could be quieter, and some more padding could be added to make him more cuddly. But all in all a great toy for a child that loves horses!

I bought this horse/toy for my grand daughter because she loves horses as much as I do and I won't have to worry about this one kicking, biting or throwing her. And she won't have to muck out the stall. She adores this horse, brushing it, feeding Butterscotch her carrot and you can see the joy in her face when she's riding it. She is amazed when it responds to her voice with a wiggle of its ears, a whinny or with a stroke of her little hand on the horse's back, Butterscotch swishes her tail. I would've given anything to have had one when I was a little girl.
