LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Legs are NOT detachable and easily tips
We bought this product for our 6.5 month old. I put the legs on thinking that I could take them off - wrong! I called customer service about it and they said that indeed the legs are NOT detachable. But from reading other reviews on other sites, apparently some so come with a button to detach the legs. I think it is a manufacturing error. Also, the description says that they can 'pull up' - the table is way to light and easily tips for him to do this. I wish I had know about the legs since he can't pull himself up to play with it - I need to be holding him in order for him to use it. Other than these 2 things, the activities on the table are good.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Lots of Entertainment
We purchased this for our daughter at 13 months and she played with it just about every day for a couple of months, and even at 17 months she gives it some attention each week, though she's about tired of it. She did start trying to climb on top and while the legs seem shaky they are very sturdy to support her even at 25 pounds One person gave the toy a lower rating because the child can climb on it, as they can a chair and everything else, but again, it's sturdy and there is something called adult supervision for toddlers anyway...We would certainly buy it again...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - educational and durable.
The LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table was a Christmas gift for my 10 month old grandson. He really has enjoyed it not only for the music and lights but the fact that although he cannot walk yet he can stand while pushing and turning the buttons and knobs and walk all the way around it. It is the perfect height and size for him and appears to be very sturdy. I think he will enjoy it for quite a while.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - a must have
We bought this for our 10 month old for Christmas, and she loves it!! It is the perfect height, a nice sound level, and an all around great buy! I would highly recommend this toy!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Completely addictive for just-learning-to-stand little ones!
My son's babysitter bought this table for him when he was 11 months old and just getting into standing for long periods. Soon, I was joking that it made her obsolete. He spent about an hour a day, in small increments, just walking around the table (there's something interesting on every side) and manipulating all the various tabs, switches, knobs, and buttons, enjoying the sounds they produced.

This toy is brilliantly designed. Here are my favorite features:

1. It's pleasant for mommy to listen to. No shrill "fake baby" voices or cacophonous "music." The piano keys play pleasant jazzy riffs that actually sound really musical. The voice is an accomplished-sounding female singing in a jazz/R&B style. There are a great multitude of sounds and songs on this toy, and none of them are hideous, jarring, or overly loud. Mommy's nerves appreciate that. In fact, many times I found myself scat-singing along with the joyful female voice!

2. The controls are all different -- not just an assortment of buttons. There's a "book" with a "page" that "turns"; there's a banjo with a neck that moves; there's a spinner; there's a compartment that opens and shuts; there's a "slide" on a trombone, etc. Flipping certain switches had the effect of changing "modes," which kept the kid engaged for long, long periods, as he tried to figure out what controlled what and what kinds of effects each switch might have.

3. There's a Spanish mode. It's always good to expose tykes to language early, and this is a pleasant start. The instrumental songs are different in Spanish mode, too; they're, well, Spanish songs.

4. It's a sturdy little table, well able to handle the weight of a leaning toddler.

About a year ago, when my boy was 2, we had to put the table away for space reasons (construction work). Just after he turned 3, we took it out again, and he lit up with joy and fell to playing with it passionately once again. That's what I call a great toy.
