This was a gift for a 7 year old. It arrived in very protective packaging, which takes an adult to open. You need batteries for both the remote and the roboreptile. There are 3 levels of programing on the remote and easily understandable for a child that can read and is familiar with gaming controls. It's advanced programing can entertain teens as well. Great gift idea and affordable with Amazon!

Has a great 'gee whiz' factor right out of the box that quickly fades. I bought this for my 6 year old son who is a dinosaur and robot fanatic. He thought is was the greatest for about 4-5 hours. The toys motions and ability to interact, while very interesting, are just too slow to hold a child's (not to mention an adults) attention and encourage play.
After the initial 'wow, this is sooo cool', the roboreptile has become an expensive still life sitting on my son's shelf. If you really need to see the roboreptile in action, grab one on ebay for $20. Then you won't feel so bad when you shelve it after a few hours.

I bought this robotic reptile for my son's birthday (he's 8). He loves it! It truly does what is says. We have a lot of tile and carpet - it has no trouble moving on either surface. Worth the money! A lot of fun.

This robot is pretty nice. I got it as one of the holiday specials and my stepson likes it. We still haven't figured the whole thing out but it's definately got it's own little personality!

I bought this item online, having never actually seen it in person. I was shocked when it arrived in a HUGE box!! This "reptile" has to be close to 2 feet long! As soon as I put the batteries in, this fella' came to life! I was concerned that the remote control was going to be too complicated for my 6 yr old nephew to figure out, but in a short time he was controlling his new "pet" with ease!
This is one toy that is well made and a lot of fun to play with!! I particularly like how it will lunge forward when it detects movement in front of it! (I jump everytime!)
A great gift for any kid who loves remote control toys and dinosaurs!!
