Rating: -
My 4 year old loves his L-Max. We have several games for it and each brings a different flavor. Just on it's own it has a couple basic games that come on it, a painting game and a scooby doo game... but they are not really anything exciting. They may keep a younger child entertained for a short while, but if buying this game system I would recommend buying one additional game with it.
The beauty of this game is the versitility, you can play it on the TV at home or you can play it on the go since it is fairly compact. And of course there are accessories you can buy - and cases to hold it and all the components. I didn't buy the case, I bought a small black toiletry bag for $9.95 at walmart that holds everything (cords, games, my charger and the L-max itself) in individual pockets even. Much better than the $20 that Leapfrog charges. So you can save some cash that way, if you are going to invest in all the L-max stuff.
My son plays with this more than any other toy. And the games we have purchased have fueled his desire to learn more about numbers, math and learning in general. This was our best purchase this year.

I received the laepster L-max from you for my grandsons christmas but when he plugged it in it did not work.I am not a big Walmart fan but my son took it to walmart and they replaced it with a new one.I am not to Happy about the product I purchased from you and will think very hard about purchasing anything else from your store. You probably have heard it before when a kid opens a present and it doesn,t work it is not fun to see their faces.

This is the first Leap Frog product I have purchased in a couple of years and now I remember why I stopped buying them. I purchased several baby toys for my 7 year old years ago and all of them had performance issues. Then when I was pregnant with twins, I sent letters to companies to see if they offer coupons on their products for expectant parents of multiples (doctor recommended this and most companies offered a small toy or coupons for diapers/medicinel/formula/toys, etc..I know, I'm cheap) The Leap Frog company was the only company that not only didn't offer me a coupon, but sent a very rude letter to me. Since then, I haven't purchased any Leap Frog products until my son really wanted the Leapster L-Max. I purchased it in October to give to him on Christmas day. We also recieved about $200 worth of accessories. After 20 minutes of use, it just went blank. I changed the batteries, still nothing. Then I opened the charging station we recieved as a gift. Still didn't work. I sent an email to Leap Frog. I still have not gotten a response and Amazon is out of them, so I can't get a replacement. Now we have all these games and accessories that I can't return (because they were gifts and I don't have receipts) Amazon was nice enough to accept my return even though the return period had expired. I have never written a review on a product, but I was so angry about this and needed to vent.

My son received this for Christmas and loves it. At 3, he likes the "painting" game that came loaded or will load another game in. I did buy the charger to go with.

My 5 year old son received this for Christmas. He absolutely loves it. He has raced cars, played Scooby Doo, and other games without having any idea that it is so educational. It has been dropped on the floor with no harm done. The only downfall is that you have to purchase a separate 35 dollar charger. I will definitely buy one for my 2 year old when she is a little older.
