Hasbro The Game of Life - Bikini Bottom SpongeBob SquarePants Edition
Rating: -
I got this game for my 5 year old twin girls. I thought it might be a bit too much as it is recommend for 7+, but they seem to really like playing this game. With a little help reading some of the cards, they very quickly picked up on the games concepts, and have gotten good at counting money! - and understanding the value of money. It also presents basic strategy skills and life decisions (job decisions, pets, homes, etc.), though there is no marriage/kids option in this version.
Overall, the board, layout, parts, etc. are attractive and well designed.

as much as i liked the game of life as a kid, the modern version has gotten way too complicated. my kids don't enjoy it at all.
This however, being geared for little ones is wonderful. my 7 year old just loves it. she loves SpongeBob, so it's really tickling to be able to extend his life with the game. and although her reading is shaky, this doens't require much skill, but it motivates her to figure the words out. if played with a grown up kids don't have to read at all.
great concepts

Much like the other versions of life. Excellent morph of the traditional favorite. Even the three year olds will like it, though they might only like dancing around the board with Patrick or Spongebob.

We in our house are Spongebob fans, adults included. The Game of Life is also one of our favorites, so we were excited when our daughter got this game for Christmas. It's simplified from the original version of Life, but that works for us as we are playing it with our five year-old. Plus, we were diverted by the Bikini Bottom aspects and did not miss aquiring children. We had great fun playing this game!
The only thing I did not like was that I couldn't keep my Squidward pawn from falling over constantly.

We bought the game thinking it would be just like the real life game, but with sponge Bob characters. It is a very simplified version of the game. It is geared towards young children. In the game, if you run out of money, you just keep playing, and you are exempt from having to pay any fees, while the people with money, still keep paying...so you are actually better off if you lose your money early in the game. (that bugs me)
as far as the spinner goes...it snaps on, you have to press hard to get it to click into place, and it works great. Just a little disappointed, just remember, it's for little kids. If you love the game of life, get the original one...my older kids want me to buy the original one, they don't care for the sponge bob version.
