Overall a nice easel however, the chalkboard side is NOT impressive. Chalk barely shows up on the board. We have yet to call Melissa and Doug for any suggestions to somehow prime the chalkboard side so it will work properly. It would also be nice if it were designed in a way to make it easier to adjust the height. Overall, we bought the easel for an affordable price and our children are enjoying the whiteboard side.

We bought this for Christmas for our 2 1/2 yr old and he loves it! Being a artist myself I have been disapointed that he wasn't more interested in painting and drawing... until now. I can leave it out and he wanders over to it and draws or paints fequently throughout the day. I read reviews on the product before I bought it so I wasn't disapointed that the chalk board isn't a real chalk board. I wasn't buying it for that. I love it. I am a simple person so this fit us so much more than those big bulky plastic easles. I am sure this will be a family favorite for a long time.

I got this for my 4 yr old and 2 yr old for christmas this year. My husband and I set it up christmas eve (exhausted, of course) and it only took us about 1/2 an hour. We had it at the bottom of the stairs with a little note from Santa wishing the kids a merry christmas. I also ordered the accessory pack and had all the art stuff set up and ready to go. It was one of the biggest hits of the day and I was so excited! It was less expensive than other types of easels that I had looked at and the companion pack was well worth the money. Definately get this for your aspiring artists!!!

This christmas My husband and i bought our 2 1/2 yr old son this easel. he absolutly loves it! we didn't have to prime any of the boards and we haven't had any problem with scrating or staining. He uses sidewalk chalk and a dry erase and chalk eraser. We bought the markers at walmart with a cleaning solution for the white board. My 1 yr old daughter likes to pull herself up on the trays and the legs. We love how sturdy it is. we havn't bought the paper for it yet and probably won't for sometime. this was a great buy! The price was lower on this easel then alot of the plastic and not as sturdy wooden ones. We have alot of melissa and doug toys and we rate them all very high.

We bought the easel for our daughter for Christmas. She is only two years old but we thought it is going to be one of those things that she will be able to use for a long time. On Christmas day we had all our nieces drawing on it. It is great even if you have two kids as one can draw on one side with chalk, while the other draws on the other side with the dry erase markers. The easel was a hit and we higly recommend it to everyone. It is very well made and the price is great. The plastic ones we saw in stores are more expensive and much smaller than this one and don't have the old fashion look to it. This can really grow with your child. We love the fact that in the future we can add a roll of drawing paper to it and we will be able to save all the wonderful masterpieces our daughter will paint or draw. So far we have been very satisfied with all the Melissa and Doug products. Keep up the excellent work
