My daughter received this as a gift on her 2nd birthday and she learned the sounds in one week! She does gets bored very quickly. She plays for 5 minutes at a time and 3-4 times a day. My advice would be not to give all 26 letters to your child instead divide them in 2-3 parts. My daughter is 25 months old and she has already started the word whammer.

What can I say that hasn't been said 500 times before? My son (now 3 1/2) got this toy at age 2. He been watching the Leapfrog videos with his older brother since he was a baby. He adored this toy when he got it, and he still plays with it today. The letters have put up with being dropped, thrown, washed (I even submerged them, though I would not recommend that), lost under the fridge and recovered, and one even got dropped into the crab's tank. Anyway, I'm a faithful Leapfrog customer now (especially since my 3 1/2 year old is reading at kindergarten level).

My household recieved this product as a gift when my 2nd child was about 13 months old. As I was teaching the oldest how to sound out words, the youngest would say "Wait! I know!" then if he could not rememeber the sound, or if his sister didn't get it right, he would bring us the toy and place the appropriate letter in the magnet frame and play the song. We have had this toy for 6 years and still I love it. My children learned alot at young ages from this toy and they have never had any trouble with pronunciation. It has never varied in performance unless batteries needed replaced. My children all love Leap Frog products and I have also found their customer service department to be well staffed and ready to help.

This toy is awesome. My son got it a few weeks before his 2nd birthday, now just a few weeks after his 2nd birthday, he already can point to and name all of the letters of the alphabet! When testing in the store, I did notice that some of them did have a tinny sound to the voice, but we managed to find one that doesn't. My only complaint about this toy, and all Leap Frog toys, is that although it has a switch for volume control, the loud is way louder than necessary, and my son knows how to turn it up. There shouldn't be a loud since the quiet is plenty loud, or at least put the volume control in a less accessible place.

At first the product was great, my little one had fun with the letters and all was well. But after a bit of use, the letters began to sound like one another because the 'voice' became scratchy sounding. To her, the frog always sings, "Z says...", although it may be C,D, or E she is using. She still loves the alphebet song, but I'm afraid she's getting her sounds confused.
