Mr. Evans has done it again. The Christmas Box was a great story. It gives the reader something to think about while the story is being read about what is truly important and what the first Christmas present was. Think about it and see if you know the answer. Great book. You must read it.

This is the first Richard Evans book I have ever read and was quite pleased with the author's writing skills and the book's intensity. This is a wonderful book about life and love, a common theme throughout the three-book series, of which The Christmas Box is the first story.

I bought this box at christmas. One night while waiting for my 5 year old to get ready for bed I picked up this book. I finished the first chapter before he came in then I couldn't wait to finish reading the book. However I couldn't finish it that night because my son wanted me to read him picture books. So the next day, I started the second chapter. As it turned out even though it was a very short story it took me days to read it and as I took my time on reading, I reflected on what the author was writing. I felt that as each day was passing on the character lives, that they became people that I felt close to. When Jenna talked to Mary about time with her father it may my heart ache. Don't we all put off time now and then and forget about how fast our children grow? The book made me laugh, cry and reflect. So much, that now the most important thing in my life is my child. Work can wait my child can not. My child and I now wear angel pin pals so that we will never be apart from each other. A MUST READ BOOK.

I received two Christmas books from friends this year, and both were great. The Christmas Box was inspiring and uplifting, and really kept your interest. I have heard good things about this book, and it met my expectations.
The other book I received was Christmas Gifts, Christmas Voices by John Allen. I had not heard about this book, but this too was an inspiring story that left me with a strong feeling of hope.

This is a great read. Although the theme is Christmas it's a good read any time of year. I finished it in one sitting - not because I intended to but because this book is very small with lots of blank pages between chapters. As skimpy as this book looks on the outside it's even skimpier once you get inside. This is not a complaint - a few well crafted sentences can go a long way as is proven by Evans. This is more like a short story than a novel. The writing is excellent and the story heartwarming. I read the Carousel by Mr Evans first and liked it so much I went back looking for the Christmas Box to see what it was all about. I wasn't disappointed! I'm looking forward to many more great stories by this author.
