After countless hours of research, we finally broke down and purchased this sandbox. It has a pretty solid construction, it took a few tries to get the legs in during assembly, but that is all the assembly that is required. It is pretty sturdy and doesn't shake or wobble. Our boys love this! WE got it for the little one's birthday in 2007 to encourage sensory play. (We have two with sensory issues) But this sand table has helped with imagination and sharing too.
The lid is great so we can keep out the neighborhood cats that like to wander into the yard. However, it doesn't keep the rain water out completely. Typically we have to let it dry out in the sun for a day or two.

The only thing wrong with this toy is that when it rains, it collects water in it. Which will eventually blend with the sand so you don't need to add water for building castles etc. Just don't really like that the water puddles in it making a mess of slop.

I bought this sandbox for my grandaughter when she visits. I had previously bought her one for her 2nd birthday which was a big hit with all the children at her party. That being her new favorite toy I thought it would be a good idea to have one at grandma's also. The sandbox was easily put together, is sturdy and has a nice tie down lid to keep out the rain and animals. I like that it is on legs so I can easily pull up a chair and play with her. Would definitely recommend this sandbox.

Well made EXCEPT holes in cover for elastic tie-downs are in such a position that rain water flows through holes and directly into sand! Fortunately this defect is easily corrected by filling holes with Silicone Caulking made for exterior use.
