Nice toy but it don't get played with much. Not what my 7 year old thought it would be.

Brilliant is the only word I can use to describe this toy. It has a few flaws, but it is fantastic.
When I first got this toy, I was kinda bored with it. After I read the manuel, twice, it got more interesting. It turns out, that this pet needs to be trained. He has his own personality. My 8 year old son got it for his birthday. He loves it! He has been playing with it every day. The tricks this dog does are amazing!

This toy does not work at all. It does not roll over, it does not walk forward, barely walks backward, and the laser wandering feature does not work. We put in brand new batteries in both the toy and the remote, and it did not change a thing. This toy has sat on the hearth ever since Christmas, almost completely unused. My 7 y o son learned first hand this year that marketing a product (TV) is what sells this item. He said, "I thought the Robo Pet would do more cool things on its own like a real dog....but it is really dumb". If anything, he learned a good lesson about what you see on TV is not what the true reality of the product when you get it home.
