This facial reconstruction kit comes with a featureless plastic skull totally stripped of identity. It's secured on a sturdy platform for easy reconstruction, using two pounds of good quality modeling clay and four plastic sculpting tools, all included. There's also a rolling pin and platform for flattening out the clay for certain facial areas. The contours of the face come to life with each dab of clay, and with the addition of removable, plastic brown eyes, a nose, and frames and spaces for ears and lips that will need to be filled in. A detailed CSI instruction manual tells step-by-step how to create the figure, even creating hair and eyebrows. --Diane Beall

My sister and I each purchased one of these heads a couple of Christmases ago and were eager to see how we would be with a combination between art and science. I expected a challenge, a long "project" for the weekend, but what I didn't expect was how little educational value the kit really had to offer.

I bought this for my 11 year old daughter for Christmas. She thinks forensics is interesting and also enjoys art and this is a perfect combination of the two. It was very easy to do, she did it herself. If you wanted to do it again the modeling clay is very soft and you could do it again. A+ educational toy...

I purchased this as a gift for my 10 yr old daughter who loves the hit show CSI. It took us about 30 mins to complete the head. The instructions were very easy and so was the clean up. It has been sitting out for about 3 weeks now and the clay is still soft, it never dryed up or got hard which is great. We can start all over again and change the features if we want to.

I'm working of a BFA and I love, love, love this! It's not a toy-- it's a tool. I got it as a GAG gift at a majors party. I have thanked the giver time and time again for it, and taken it to classes where I work with kids. I don't mention CSI because I think it's a bit morbid, but when it comes to drawing a face, it helps to know how it's constructed and I get kids to LOOK at what people look like, and off of drawing generic symbols for mouths, eyes, noses and hair.
