Editorial Review:

Product Description:
"My name is Alan Christoffersen. You don’t know me. ‘Just another book in the library,’ my father would say. ‘Unopened and unread.’ You have no idea how far I’ve come or what I’ve lost. More important, you have no idea what I’ve found." —Prologue

What would you do if you lost everything—your job, your home, and the love of your life—all at the same time? When it happens to Seattle ad executive Alan Christoffersen, he’s tempted by his darkest thoughts. A bottle of pills in his hand and nothing left to live for, he plans to end his misery. Instead, he decides to take a walk. But not any ordinary walk. Taking with him only the barest of essentials, Al leaves behind all that he’s known and heads for the farthest point on his map: Key West, Florida. The people he encounters along the way, and the lessons they share with him, will save his life—and inspire yours.

Richard Paul Evans’s extraordinary New York Times bestsellers have made him one of the world’s most beloved storytellers. A life-changing journey, both physical and spiritual, The Walk is the first of an unforgettable series of books about one man’s search for hope.

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Walk is a MUST read!
I am not a big reader but a friend recommended this book to me. To give you an idea of how much I don't read, the last book I read from start to finish was Marley and Me. Since then, I have attempted to read some books but never complete them. I read "The Walk" in a day and a half! Such an easy read, completely engaging, and a completely inspirational book. I highly recommend it to everyone! I can't wait for the next one!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Walk
I have facilitated grief groups for over 30 years and found "The Walk" to be a wonderful example of walking through grief rather than trying to go around it or ignoring its painful side. I plan to highly recommend this book. RN MSN

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A lot said in little space
Read the book a few months back, and then heard most of it on audio as my wife "read" the book. But we got both copies from our local library. Tonight I came to Amazon because RPE announced his new book (not part of this series) and it made me think about getting a used copy of The Walk.

So I'm sitting here reading the reviews -- looking to see why people would give 1 or 2 (then looked at 3 and 4) stars. I'm passing on the 5-star rating only because there is much in these reviews ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It takes guts to walk
Alan, the main character, marries his sweetheart from childhood and leads the perfect life until a sudden unfortunate accident drastically changes it all. Left in such deep despair, he decides that he is literally going to pack up and walk to the furthest point on the U.S. map. Along the way, Alan meets several interesting characters who help strengthen his soul. As his muscles build, so too, it seems, does his faith. The story is similar to Stephen King's original release of THE GREEN MILE in ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Delightful read! Inspirational and heartfelt.
I can't remember when I've read something that was so very easy to read, yet interesting and sensitive. It has its moments where it grabs your heart and makes it feel. There are phrases or incidents when you feel as if what he's saying is what you've felt at times in your life. The writer is gifted at telling a story that most anyone can identify with. A lovely book to share with a friend. Bravo!
